  • Direct Plug-in Mounting: Can be directly and quickly plugged onto KRIPAL UKC1, UKC2, and UKC5 series contactors to form a compact motor starter.
  • Independent DIN Rail Mounting: Using a separate base, it can be mounted onto a standard DIN rail.
  • Screw Mounting: The base also provides screw holes for traditional screw fixation.

The trip curve defines the relay's operating time under overload conditions.

  • Class 10A: Typically operates within 10 seconds, suitable for standard motors with general overload tolerance.
  • Class 20A: Typically operates within 20 seconds, designed for motors driving high-inertia loads (e.g., fans, centrifuges), providing protection against nuisance tripping during longer startup times.

The KRIPAL UK series supports both curves, allowing selection based on actual load characteristics.

These are two models designed for different protection needs:

  • UKH (Standard Type): Provides basic overload protection.
  • UKK (Phase-Loss Protection Type): Includes built-in phase-loss protection. If one phase is lost in the three-phase supply, it acts quickly to prevent motor burnout under single-phase operation, offering a higher level of safety.

This is an important safety and convenience feature:

Manual Reset: After tripping, a technician must press the reset button on-site to resume operation. This aids in troubleshooting the fault cause and is the recommended safe default setting.

Automatic Reset: The relay resets automatically after cooling down. Suitable for unattended applications requiring automatic restart, but its safety should be verified before use.

The KRIPAL UK Series Thermal Overload Relay is designed for stable operation within an ambient temperature range of -5°C to +40°C. Ensure installation within this range inside the electrical cabinet to guarantee accurate and reliable protection performance.
The free-trip mechanism is a critical safety feature. It ensures that when a fault occurs, the relay's internal mechanism can trip immediately and unconditionally, regardless of the handle position. This guarantees the absolute priority of the protection function, preventing protection failure due to manual interference.
The UK series offers various current ratings (e.g., UKH-22, UKH-40, UKH-85, up to 220A). Select a model whose current adjustment range covers the full load rated current of the motor you need to protect. Refer to the motor's nameplate data for this value.
