Pacific Insurance Data Center Power Infrastructure Project

October 27, 2025

Project Overview

The Pacific Insurance Data Center project was designed to deliver a stable, safe, and scalable electrical infrastructure for one of the company’s key IT and data management facilities.

As the backbone of digital operations, the data center required a system capable of supporting continuous, high-load performance while meeting the strictest standards for reliability, redundancy, and safety.

This project focused on creating a modular power distribution network equipped with industrial-grade sockets, ensuring consistent performance under 24/7 operation and minimizing the risk of downtime.

The Challenge

Before implementation, the site faced challenges typical of high-density IT environments:

uneven power distribution, limited redundancy, and outdated connectors that were not optimized for modern load demands. The previous setup posed potential overheating risks during peak operation hours and lacked the flexibility required for future equipment expansion.

The Solution

To address these challenges, the new design integrated heavy-duty IEC industrial sockets with IP67 protection, ensuring both safety and durability even under intensive electrical loads. Each unit was clearly labeled and aligned in a structured configuration, simplifying both installation and maintenance.

The sockets were mounted on a customized metal distribution rack, designed for neat cable management and heat dissipation. All wiring was upgraded to meet fire-retardant and low-smoke specifications, minimizing hazards in enclosed environments.

In addition, redundant power feeds were introduced, allowing critical servers and network hardware to remain operational during maintenance or unexpected outages. The system also supports future scalability, making it easy to add new circuits or expand power capacity without interrupting service.

Implementation Process

The project was executed in phases to ensure zero disruption to ongoing operations.

  • Phase 1: Detailed power load analysis and layout design
  • Phase 2: Installation of new industrial socket banks and distribution racks
  • Phase 3: Integration testing under simulated high-load conditions
  • Phase 4: Safety inspection, system documentation, and staff training

Each step followed strict data center compliance guidelines, ensuring performance reliability and adherence to ISO and national safety standards.

Results

The new system has provided exceptional stability and safety since commissioning.

Voltage fluctuations were reduced by over 60%, and the improved grounding network achieved a resistance value below 2 ohms, ensuring full compliance with electrical safety codes.

Routine maintenance time was shortened by nearly 40%, and system uptime now consistently exceeds 99.99%, matching Tier III data center requirements.

Impact

The Pacific Insurance Data Center project showcases how precision engineering and modular design can significantly enhance data infrastructure performance. By combining robust components, intelligent layout planning, and forward-looking scalability, the project established a long-term foundation for digital reliability.

The upgraded electrical system not only supports current data loads but also prepares the facility for future technologies such as AI-based analytics and edge computing expansion.
